2. The Competitions
2.1 All draws operated by the Promoter on the Platform to win prizes are referred to as “Competitions” in these Terms and Conditions. This includes:
- one-off prize Competitions;
- Instant Win Competitions (see Clause 6 for additional terms); and
- multiple-prize Competitions, where multiple winners may be drawn in a single event.
2.2 Multiple Competitions may be operated at the same time. Each Competition will have a specific prize and may include Instant Win prizes, all as specified on the Platform.
2.3 Availability and pricing of Competitions is at the discretion of the Promoter and will be specified on the Platform.
2.4 Each Competition has a free postal entry route available as well as a paid online entry route (see Clause 4 below). The availability of a free entry route means that each Competition does not fall within the definition of a lottery under the Gambling Act 2005 and can be operated legally in Great Britain without a licence.
2.5 Each Competition will run for the period of time specified on the Platform. Please see the Platform for details of each Competition’s start and end dates and times (“Promotion Period”).
2.6 A Competition will end when either the maximum number of entries has been sold, or the timer runs out at the end of a timed Promotion Period, whichever is earlier. But not all competitions have a timed ending and some will run until sold out. The Promoter reserves the right to end a Promotion Period earlier at its discretion, provided that the Competition will remain open for at least 3 clear days following the Promoter’s announcement of an early close on the Platform.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Competitions are open to all persons aged 18 or over who are residents in the United Kingdom.
3.2 Employees of the Promoter, or any person directly connected with the Promoter (including immediate family members and household members), are prohibited from entering any Competition.
3.3 By entering a Competition, the entrant (“Entrant”, “you”, “your”) confirms that you:
- are at least 18 years of age;
- are a UK resident;
- have the legal capacity to enter;
- have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions; and
- will be bound by them and by any requirements set out in any related promotional material on the Platform.
3.4 By entering, you confirm you are not breaching any laws in your country of residence. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any Entrant entering Competitions unlawfully.
3.5 The Promoter reserves the right to refuse an entry or close a customer’s account at its discretion, including where there are reasonable grounds to believe the account is being abused or entries are not being made genuinely by the registered account holder.
3.6 All Competitions are governed by English law. Any disputes will be resolved under English law and the Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
4. How to Enter
4.1 To enter any Competition, you must first create a free account on the Platform. You will be asked to provide a profile picture.
4.2 All Entrants must also provide the following contact details (“Contact Details”):
- full name;
- date of birth;
- email address;
- postal address; and
- contact telephone number.
These details will be used to confirm your entry, contact you if you win, and publish winner information on the Platform although we will only use your selected username and not your real name (unless you request otherwise under Clause 11.2). They will also be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Online Entries
4.3 To enter online, follow the on-screen instructions to select the Competition, choose the number of tickets, and provide your payment details. Once payment has cleared, you will receive an email confirmation of your entry along with your ticket numbers.
4.4 You will not be deemed entered into a Competition until your entry is confirmed, which can be verified in your account on the Platform.
Free Postal Entries
4.5 A free postal entry route is available for all Competitions. Postal entries must be sent on an open postcard (not in an envelope, and not handwritten on a covered card). Bulk entries on the same postcard will not be accepted. Postal entries must arrive via a postal service.
4.6 Each postal entry must include:
- your full name;
- your full postal address;
- your date of birth;
- your contact telephone number;
- your registered account email address; and
- the name of the Competition you wish to enter (exactly as displayed on the Platform).
4.7 Postal entries should be sent by first or second class post to:
OctoComps – Free Entry
PO Box 81810
London
E17 0DL
4.8 You must be a registered account holder on the Platform before sending a postal entry. Your postal entry details must match your registered account. Failure to match will result in your entry being void.
4.9 Each postal entry has the same chance of winning as a paid online entry. The same maximum number of entries applies to postal entries as to online entries for each Competition.
4.10 Postal entries will be processed on business days only. Sending a postal entry does not guarantee entry — entries received after a Competition has closed or sold out will not be accepted.
4.11 You will not be deemed entered until your entry is confirmed, which can be verified in your account on the Platform. You will not receive individual confirmation by post.
General Entry Rules
4.12 All entries must be received by the end of the Promotion Period. The maximum number of entries per person per Competition varies and will be displayed on each Competition’s page on the Platform.
4.13 All entries are final. No refunds will be made at any time, except where the Promoter cancels a Competition (see Clause 8.1).
4.14 The Promoter reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any entry if it has reasonable grounds to believe the Entrant has contravened these Terms and Conditions or acted in a manner contrary to the spirit of the Competition.
5. Competition Draw
5.1 The winner of each Competition will be determined using an independent, verifiably random number generator. All draws will be live streamed on Facebook and/or YouTube (or such other live streaming platform as the Promoter may choose and announce on the Platform in advance).
5.2 In the event of a technical malfunction with the draw system, the Promoter reserves the right to re-run the winner selection process at its absolute discretion.
5.3 There will be one main prize winner per Competition unless the Promoter states otherwise on the Platform (for example, in multiple-prize Competitions where several winners may be drawn in a single event).
5.4 The Promoter’s decision is final in all aspects of each Competition.
5.5 The Promoter will attempt to contact winners using the Contact Details provided at registration. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure their Contact Details are accurate and up to date. The Promoter will not be responsible for any failure to contact a winner due to incorrect details.
5.6 If the Promoter is unable to contact a winner within 5 working days of the draw (which may be extended at the Promoter’s sole discretion), or if the winner fails to confirm acceptance of the prize, or is disqualified for breaching these Terms and Conditions, the prize will be forfeited and will remain with the Promoter.
6. Instant Win Competitions
6.1 Certain Competitions may include Instant Win prizes, as specified on the Platform.
6.2 Winning Instant Win ticket numbers will be randomly generated at the time of purchase and cannot be changed. They are encrypted in the database and not accessible to any member of staff.
6.3 Once an entry has been confirmed and a ticket number allocated, it will automatically be eligible for any Instant Win prize associated with that Competition.
6.4 Each postal entry has the same chance of winning an Instant Win prize as a paid online entry.
7. Competition Prizes
7.1 Prizes are selected by the directors of the Promoter and will be owned or purchased by the Promoter. Full details of each prize are displayed on the Platform.
7.2 All prizes will be awarded in full regardless of the number of entries received for a Competition only once the competition has ended.
7.3 Delivery of prizes to any address within the United Kingdom is free of charge. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is outside the United Kingdom.
7.4 The Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes once they have been delivered to the winner. No insurance is included with any prize.
7.5 All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the prize provider, manufacturer and/or supplier.
7.6 Each prize must be accepted as awarded. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be converted to other substitutes, or used in conjunction with any other vouchers, offers or discounts.
7.7 All costs and expenses incurred by the winner in collecting or receiving a prize (other than standard UK delivery) are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners are also responsible for all applicable taxes, duties or charges in relation to receipt of a prize.
Cash Alternatives
7.8 A cash alternative may be offered for selected prizes at the Promoter’s discretion. Where a cash alternative is available, this will be clearly stated on the relevant Competition page on the Platform. The cash alternative value will be as advertised on the Platform for that specific Competition.
7.9 The winner is under no obligation to accept a cash alternative. The full prize will be awarded unless the winner expressly elects to take the cash alternative.
7.10 No cash alternative will be offered unless specifically advertised for the relevant Competition.
Car Prizes
7.11 Where a prize is a car or vehicle, this will be clearly stated on the Competition page. Cars may be new or second-hand as specified on the Platform.
7.12 All car prizes will be delivered to a UK address. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure valid insurance and road tax are in place before driving the vehicle on a public road. The Promoter does not contribute towards insurance, servicing, or any other running costs.
7.13 The Promoter takes no responsibility for the car prize once it has been delivered to the winner.
Prize Payment Verification
7.14 All monetary prizes will be paid directly into the verified personal bank account of the named winner only. Winnings will not be transferred to any third party account under any circumstances.
7.15 The winner must provide valid identification and any supporting documents requested by the Promoter to confirm identity and bank account ownership. Failure to provide satisfactory proof may result in forfeiture of the prize.
8. Competition Cancellation and Changes
8.1 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel any Competition at any time before or after entries have been sold. If a Competition is cancelled, the Promoter will notify each Entrant by email and return any payment made by the same method, or provide account credit if the Entrant elects to re-enter an equivalent Competition. Where a refund has been issued, the Promoter will have no further liability to the Entrant.
8.2 The Promoter may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time and will post the updated version on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
9. Storage of Prizes
9.1 The Promoter will not store prizes free of charge for longer than 10 days after notifying the winner. After this period, the prize will be delivered to the winner’s registered address or the winner can forfeit the prize and it will stay with the Promoter.
10. Winner Verification
10.1 Each winner will be required to provide documentary proof of age (18+) and identity before receiving a prize. Failure to provide satisfactory proof may result in disqualification.
10.2 The Promoter reserves the right not to deliver a prize until satisfied that:
- the winner holds a validly registered Platform account and is not in breach of these Terms and Conditions;
- any amounts outstanding to the Promoter have been paid in full; and
- the age, identity and eligibility of the winner have been established to the Promoter’s satisfaction.
10.3 The Promoter may withhold or reclaim a prize if it reasonably suspects fraud in connection with a Competition.
11. Winners’ Details and Publicity
11.1 Winners will be asked to provide photographs and/or appear in videos and other promotional content. By accepting a prize, winners agree to reasonably cooperate with the Promoter’s publicity activities, including the use of their username, image, location/area and likeness across our marketing channels. The Promoter will endeavour to keep any such activity proportionate, respectful, and convenient for the winner.
11.2 By entering a Competition, the Entrant agrees to supply a photo holding up a winner sign either on their phone or in person with a printed sign and consents to the use of their username, location/area and photograph for publicity purposes.
12. Your Account
12.1 You must keep your account password secure at all times. You must not share your password with any other person or allow anyone else to use your account.
12.2 You must contact the Promoter immediately if you believe your account has been accessed by an unauthorised person.
12.3 The Promoter will not be liable for any consequences arising from your failure to maintain account security.
12.4 Your account is personal and non-transferable. You may only hold one account on the Platform. The Promoter reserves the right to close duplicate accounts.
13. Payments and Chargebacks
13.1 If you dispute any payment made to us, you must contact us immediately to discuss the matter.
13.2 In the event that you submit an unjustified chargeback, the following will be due and payable by you within 7 days:
- the charges due for any Competitions entered during the period covered by the chargeback;
- any chargeback costs levied by your bank or card provider; and
- at our discretion, our reasonable costs of recovery including legal and debt collection fees.
13.3 The Promoter reserves the right to terminate your account in the event of an unjustified chargeback.
14. Subscriptions and Membership
14.1 The Promoter intends to introduce subscription and membership tiers in the future. When available, full terms and conditions for any subscription service will be published on the Platform and will form part of these Terms and Conditions.
15. Limits of Liability
15.1 The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or fitness for any particular purpose of any goods or services offered as prizes.
15.2 Except for liability for death or personal injury caused by the Promoter’s negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage (including consequential or economic loss) suffered in connection with a Competition or the supply of any prize.
15.3 The total maximum aggregate liability of the Promoter to a prize winner shall be limited to the total value of the prize won.
15.4 The total maximum aggregate liability of the Promoter to an Entrant who does not win a prize shall be limited to the amount paid by that Entrant to enter Competitions in the first 12 months of participation.
15.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall prevent you from exercising your statutory rights.
16. Electronic Communications
16.1 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for failed, partial or garbled electronic transmissions, or for any hardware, software, network or internet failures in connection with any Competition.
16.2 The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to award each prize to the correct Entrant. If a prize is awarded incorrectly due to technical or human error, the Promoter reserves the right to reclaim and re-award it to the correct Entrant. The incorrectly awarded Entrant will be required to return the prize at their own cost. No compensation will be payable in such circumstances.
16.3 Only tickets recorded in our systems shall be entered into the relevant Competition. The Promoter shall not be liable for entries that occur as a result of malfunctioning software or other technical event.

17.4 The Promoter owns or is licensed to use all intellectual property rights in the Platform, including all competition content. You will not acquire any rights in any such material.
